The rain was quite spectacular to say the least! Did not bother me though.
Real shame I missed the afternoon as I believe the weather got a lot better?

The weather was a downside in the morning, but at least the sun came in the afternoon!
Nice play from both yellow and reds, especialy enjoyed using my newly aquired Sig P226, best bit was i got two kills while in a cupboard haha!
As said, great play from all and nice senarios.
Thanks all for showing.

Really enjoyed the game with the 3 metal boxes. Me and jack spotted harrison and another lad running past the embassy with what looked like a box. We bust out off the bunker and fought our way through about 10 reds and into the embassy running after him, only to find out it was just a plastic box they had used to trick us. Nice one haha.
And maccy, i think that was me who you got in the cubbard if it was in your base. Me and jack got into their twice. We came back and got you though, i told you we would

Some constructive criticism:
- When the weather is pants, is it not possible to hold the safety brief in the medblock when numbers allow? The reason I suggest this that often the safety brief takes longer than it should while we are getting progressively soaked - those of us that don't have to go back to the safe zone after the safety brief then have to wait 10+ (because no one ever takes less than the given time) minutes get soaked even more. I might be in the minority here and granted it doesn't rain that often - I just don't have an affinity for getting cold and wet before I've even done anything game related/don't have to be. I shall make sure that I pack a tactical cagool in future

- "Have you got a plan?" was the last thing I heard about 30 seconds before game on being called on the first round. I can't help thinking the start of the day was a bit rushed - on red team we were all told where to go so I was a bit perplexed to find that as part of the demo squad we literally had no support moving round the back of the pub when the pub, D2 and D1 should have been maintained as a defended area. From a strategic point of view, that game should have been a piece of cake, if we'd had 2 minutes to half organise.
I personally wasn't feeling the love for the longer games in the afternoon - longer games in general do work well at Anzio but perhaps Jamie's naming us the 'Sons of Lethargy' was somewhat prophetic. Slightly shorter, fast strike game types import a sense of urgency and should keep your brain/body working, stopping you from switching off - don't get me wrong I saw a lot of people having fun playing but I also saw a lot of stuff where people can't have been thinking properly.
Overall, did I enjoy the day? Yes, immensely. Could it have been better? Yes, but shit happens and it was just the right mix of wind/rain to put the smallest of downers on things.
Was nice to put a few faces to forum names/chat during the bring&buy too.
And in case people don't scroll as far as the videos thread, here is my rather sweary mary video from the day:

The game play was nicely varied, with plenty of intense fire fights and lots of fun moments. A great day and it's nice to be truly back at Anzio after a bit of exploring of other skirmish sites.
Nice video Dan, very cool. In the last section with you guys grabbing the engineer I remember arriving down to that area via the bunker, and setting up with my LSW in the window overlooking that side entrance you used and just hosing the yellows as they came back en mass from their regen. You lot must have been keeping them very busy as not a single one returned fire at me despite the shower of bbs coming their way.
EDIT - just for clarity I wasn't firing into their regen as that's just not cool (not that I'd even have the range even if I did), but just into the mini car park at the side of D5.

Jamie asked me at the end of the night missions what I thought of the whole day and I said it was crap!!
In all seriousness what a great day Saturday was, yes the weather was crap but you can only get so wet before you forget how wet you are, then when the games start you completely forget you are on the edge of hypothermia

Being British is about driving a German car to and Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then on the way home stopping for an Indian curry ir a Turkish kebab, to sit on a Swedish sofa and watch American shows on a Japanese Tv and most of all being suspicious of anything foreign.
Oh and only in Britian can you get a pizza to your home faster than an ambulance.
Only in britain do banks leave both doors open but chain pens to the counter.
Supermarkets make sick people walk to the back of the shop for prescriptions whilsts healthy people get their fags at the front.

Great play from pretty much everyone there. The only incident of foul play was when a yellow team member started to shout abuse at a guy next to me after he shot him once he'd shouted hit! To be fair to my team mate, the guy was in the building opposite us ( d4, we were in d3 ) and was walking around with his hand in the air. But if the obscenities weren't bad enough, the fact that he then decided to then start firing back out of anger after said team mate told him to watch his mouth and calm, just shows that unfortunately some PRATS! Do get through the net. However, said prat soon bled out when said team mate ( dazza ) took out his marshals vest , slipped it on and ran down the stairs after him pmsl.
Nice video dan, was trying to explain to my mate how about 20 reds were squashed up on the stair well, to afraid to move untill someone came in screaming for everyone to f***ing move lol. Still cant put a face to the name, however, the voice is now logged in. Stilll feel sorry for the first guy through the opening at the top of the srairs, took about 4 hits to the side and back of the head........So glad i didnt turn left lol.
