A couple of friends and I have been looking into Airsoft on and off for a little while and now, after meeting a new friend at London MCM Expo who regularly plays and with his help, we've put some serious time and dedication into all sorts of research like sites near our hometown in Chatham, various terminology, UKARA rules and regulations, equipment... all the stuff I'm sure most of you all know like the back of your hand.
I must say, the sense of eagerness it's instilled is certainly invigorating. It's rare that I personally ever get so taken with a hobby, especially one thats so active and I have some high expectations. From nights spent till 3 in the morning watching skirmish videos to weapon reviews, I can honestly say I'm excited.
I've already made some headway towards safety gear, having ordered a neoprene half mask, mesh goggles and a beanie to cover my head with some fingerless gloves to keep free finger movement. (I'll just live with people who shoot at the hands.
With plans in place to attend a group gathering at the Mall on the 24th of June with a few other friends who are more regular airsoft skirmishers, we're expecting a good time, though Battle Lake in Tunbridge Wells will become our more regular skirmish site with likely monthly games. We're in no real rush to get registered as a friend is kindly loaning us his guns to save on hire fees.
Looking forward to it and hope to see some of you there.
