Am I too old for airsoft?

15 posts in this topic

Hi all,

Never done airsoft before, but have done a lot of shooting and section attacks back in the late '80s.

Am 43 years old now - is this too old to start airsoft? What is the age profile like?

Cheers.

Just what I have seen the age range is all over the place and from what I have been told from expieranced players, your fitness level or experiance wont stop you from enjoying airsoft

Running around shooting people with bb's would make anyone feel 16 again

Pic related, this dude look badass and he must be 45+

I'm 44 buddy and I enjoy the whole thing, just go and enjoy it and be as active as you want to be.

There are many roles in an airsoft game from sniping to frontal assault.

Your only a tiny bit older than me but I've been "playing" for years and the age range is huge. It's great fun and a good day out so who cares. I've seen a lot older than us playing especially during weekenders.

Smile sweetly at the young and very enthusiastic and have a cup of tea and good laugh up your sleeve with the older ones about the younger ones

I'm 52 and have been skirmishing for a good few years

If anything my fitness level is better now than when I started

So no age ain't no barrier, in fact it's fun watching some of the younger generation huff and puff their way round the site.

That's great! Thanks for the encouragement and looks like I've got no excuses.

I'll see when I can make the next open day and hope to see some of you guys soon. What would you say was essential in terms of clothing? I'll be hiring a gun but probably will get some face protection...

Good boots with ankle support are a definite mate

Lot of rough ground at some sites, twisting an ankle ain't fun at any age

I went for my first time last Sunday and spent the day running round the Armoury Wrexham all day thoroughly enjoying myself, I'm 61 and suffer from arthritis lol just took plenty of meds with me.

If you enjoy it you're not to old so go for it
